DUBAI: The 12th World Green Economy Summit (WGES) will begin on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
The two-day summit will bring together more than 3,300 participants and over 80 international speakers to discuss sustainable development and green investment.
Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the event carries the theme “From Success to Scale: Showcasing the Green Economy.”
The Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), and World Green Economy Organisation (WGEO) are organising the summit.
Key Topics at the Summit
The summit will focus on four major areas:
- Energy technology and infrastructure
- Business strategy and green transition
- Water and food security
- Climate finance and investment
Discussions will also explore artificial intelligence, governance, sustainable supply chains and the circular economy.
Experts will examine how countries can expand successful renewable energy projects and attract investments into sustainable industries.
Green Economy Investment Opportunities
The global green economy has already exceeded $5 trillion in annual value. Industry projections suggest it could surpass $7 trillion by 2030.
However, climate financing remains below the levels needed to achieve global sustainability targets.
The summit aims to connect investors, policymakers and technology companies to accelerate practical climate solutions.
Dubai’s Sustainability Ambitions
The event will showcase opportunities in solar energy, electric vehicles, green hydrogen and energy storage.
Participants will also discuss how advanced technology can support cleaner industries and sustainable economic growth.
Impact to Expect
The summit could encourage new green investments, international partnerships and clean-energy projects.
It will also strengthen Dubai’s position as a global centre for sustainability and climate innovation.
