ABU DHABI: The UAE will host its first nationwide Early Childhood Week from November 16 to 22, 2026. More than 300 educational, cultural and recreational activities will take place across all seven emirates. The initiative aims to support children’s development and strengthen family relationships.
The Ministry of Family will organise the event with the Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority (ECA) and 130 participating organisations. The programme forms part of the UAE’s Year of Family initiatives and carries the theme Every Moment Matters.
Over 300 Activities Across Seven Emirates
The week will offer interactive learning experiences, storytelling sessions, parenting workshops, sports and cultural activities for children aged eight and under. In Dubai, children can explore a miniature city that introduces health, education, creativity and sustainability. Sharjah’s House of Wisdom will host reading and creative workshops.
Ajman will introduce a traditional marketplace where children can explore entrepreneurship. Fujairah will encourage families to discover Emirati vocabulary, while Umm Al Quwain will offer young visitors a broadcasting experience. Abu Dhabi will organise museum activities, while Ras Al Khaimah will host educational events and family learning experiences.
Focus on Family Bonding and Child Development
The programme will encourage parents and caregivers to participate alongside their children. The Ministry of Family has also introduced the Everyday Moments for a More Connected Family guide. Available in Arabic and English, it offers practical ways to improve communication, establish family routines and strengthen relationships. A special children’s run on November 20, organised with UNICEF and national partners, will mark World Children’s Day.
