Abu Dhabi M42 Launches Ossi AI to Give Doctors More Time

M42 has launched Ossi, an AI platform that works alongside electronic medical records and automates administrative tasks. It will initially operate at seven M42 healthcare centres in Abu Dhabi.

ABU DHABI: Healthcare company M42 has launched Ossi, an artificial intelligence platform designed to reduce administrative workloads and allow doctors to spend more time caring for patients.

Unveiled at the Abu Dhabi Future Health Summit, the platform uses AI to automate medical documentation, summarise patient records and support clinical decisions.

Developed with Microsoft, Ossi operates on Azure cloud infrastructure and integrates with existing electronic medical record systems.

M42 estimates the technology could allow doctors to spend up to 60% more time interacting with patients.

How Ossi Works

The platform uses four specialised AI agents to support healthcare professionals.

The Ambient Scribe Agent records consultations and prepares medical notes for doctors to review.

The Health Record Agent summarises patient histories, medications and test results.

The Clinical Q&A Agent provides access to medical information and clinical guidelines.

Meanwhile, the Coding Agent suggests appropriate medical codes to simplify administrative processes.

Doctors retain responsibility for reviewing information and making final clinical decisions.

Seven Healthcare Facilities Connected

Ossi is operating at seven M42 facilities across the UAE and Bahrain.

These include Healthpoint, HealthPlus, Mubadala Health Dubai, Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Hospital, Imperial College London Diabetes Centre, Amana UAE and Amana Bahrain.

The platform supports multiple languages and follows healthcare data privacy and security requirements.

M42 also plans to expand the technology internationally through its Microsoft partnership.

According to the company, Ossi could significantly reduce the time doctors spend reviewing complex medical histories before consultations.

Impact to Expect

Patients could benefit from longer consultations, faster documentation and more personalised attention.

Healthcare providers may also improve efficiency by reducing repetitive administrative tasks.

However, the reported 60% increase in patient interaction time remains an estimate rather than a demonstrated outcome across the seven facilities.
