Sharjah Book Fair 2026’s Future Hands District lets children explore future careers through interactive activities, hands-on learning and play
SHARJAH: Children visiting the 45th Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) can explore different professions through play at the new Future Hands District. The interactive educational attraction helps young visitors develop practical skills and discover their interests in a supervised environment.
The initiative combines entertainment with early childhood learning. It runs alongside the book fair from November 4 to 15 at Expo Centre Sharjah.
Children Become Doctors, Engineers and Detectives
Future Hands District welcomes children aged three to seven. It recreates a miniature city where young visitors can explore different professional roles. Children can work in a simulated car repair shop and washing station, design buildings and bridges using construction blocks, or step into a mini-clinic to learn about healthcare and hygiene.
Young visitors can also become junior detectives. They follow clues, examine tracks and solve simple mysteries. These activities encourage imagination while helping children develop problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills.
Learning Through Real-World Experiences
Children begin their experience by registering, choosing a profession and wearing the appropriate uniform. Supervisors then guide them through practical activities related to their chosen roles. At the end of each experience, children receive a badge that recognises their participation.
The initiative encourages cooperation, curiosity and an early appreciation of different professions.
A Family Attraction Beyond Books
Future Hands District forms part of SIBF 2026’s expanded programme. The fair brings together literature, creativity and interactive education under the theme Made of Stories.
The event also offers children’s workshops, cultural performances and storytelling experiences. These activities give families opportunities to learn together. By combining career exploration with imaginative play, the district adds a practical learning experience to one of the region’s largest literary gatherings.
