Burj Khalifa Now Accepts UPI for Online Bookings

by Team DTN

Indian visitors planning travel to two of the world’s premier destinations can now seamlessly book experiences and make online payments using their preferred Unified Payments Interface (UPI) apps

DUBAI: Indian tourists visiting Dubai can now use the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) to book tickets online for At the Top, Burj Khalifa. The new facility allows travellers to pay through familiar Indian payment apps while planning their UAE holidays.

India’s Ministry of Finance confirmed the development on October 30, 2026. The initiative makes At the Top, Burj Khalifa the first UAE attraction to introduce UPI payments for online bookings.

The service follows a partnership between NPCI International Payments Limited (NIPL), NEOPAY and Emaar Entertainment. The companies aim to simplify international travel payments and reduce difficulties associated with cross-border transactions.

UPI Payments Expand at Dubai Attractions

Indian travellers can now book the Burj Khalifa observation deck experience using supported UPI applications. This allows visitors to complete payments online before arriving in Dubai. The development builds on an agreement announced in July 2026 between NIPL and its UAE partners.

It also extends UPI beyond existing merchant payment services into online attraction bookings. The Ministry said the initiative will improve convenience for Indian visitors who regularly use UPI for everyday transactions.

Singapore Attractions Also Introduce UPI

The expansion extends beyond Dubai. Resorts World Sentosa in Singapore has also introduced UPI payments for online bookings through a collaboration with FOMO Pay. Indian tourists can use the facility for attractions including Universal Studios Singapore, Singapore Oceanarium and Adventure Cove Waterpark. Singapore welcomed approximately 1.2 million Indian visitors in 2025, highlighting the importance of convenient payment options.

UPI Expands Its Global Reach

UPI is currently accepted in ten countries, including the UAE, Singapore, France, Qatar and Mauritius.

India previously introduced UPI ticket payments for the Eiffel Tower in January 2024. Uzbekistan is expected to become the eleventh country following an agreement announced in August 2026.

The latest expansion gives Indian travellers more payment flexibility while supporting closer digital and tourism connections between India and the UAE.

Impact to Expect

UPI acceptance could simplify advance ticket bookings for Indian tourists, reduce payment friction and encourage wider adoption of Indian digital payment services across UAE attractions.
