Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid urges UAE citizens, residents, schools and institutions to raise the national flag on November 3, celebrating UAE Flag Day 2026
DUBAI: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has urged citizens and residents to raise the national flag on November 3, marking UAE Flag Day 2026.
In a message shared on October 27, Sheikh Mohammed invited government institutions, ministries, schools, universities and households across all seven emirates to participate in the annual celebration.
He described the occasion as an expression of national pride, unity and loyalty to the UAE.
A National Moment of Unity and Pride
Sheikh Mohammed encouraged everyone to raise the UAE flag proudly, bringing communities together under a shared national symbol.
The Dubai Ruler highlighted the flag’s importance in representing the country’s achievements, unity and commitment to continued progress.
His message emphasised that Flag Day offers citizens and residents an opportunity to demonstrate their connection to the UAE and its values.
The annual occasion brings together people from different backgrounds, reflecting the country’s diverse population and shared sense of belonging.
Why UAE Celebrates Flag Day on November 3
The UAE introduced Flag Day in 2013 following an initiative by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid.
The occasion commemorates the accession of the late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan as UAE President on November 3, 2004.
Every year, government buildings, educational institutions, businesses and residential communities display the national flag.
The celebration also marks the beginning of the country’s National Month, which continues until Eid Al Etihad on December 2.
Impact to Expect
UAE Flag Day 2026 is expected to bring widespread participation across schools, workplaces and residential communities. Flag-raising ceremonies and national activities will highlight unity, strengthen national identity and encourage residents to celebrate the UAE’s achievements.
November 3 remains a regular working day, as Flag Day is not an official public holiday.
