Ajman says its City Centre Roads Development Project is now 75% complete, while phase one of the Al Hamidiya Street scheme has reached 25%. Both are expected to open in early 2027, improving traffic flow and drainage.

AJMAN: Two major road development projects in Ajman have reached significant construction milestones as the emirate works to improve traffic flow and road connectivity.

The Ajman Municipality and Planning Department confirmed that the City Centre Roads Development Project has reached 75% completion. Meanwhile, the first phase of the Al Hamidiya Street Development Project is 25% complete.

Both projects are scheduled to open in early 2027, according to the department. Officials reviewed construction progress during a field inspection led by Abdulrahman Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Director General of Ajman Municipality and Planning Department.

City Centre Roads Reach 75% Completion

The City Centre project aims to reduce congestion and improve connections between residential and commercial areas. Workers have completed major construction along Sheikh Abdullah bin Humaid bin Rashid Street and linked Masfout Street with Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum Street.

Authorities have also opened three intersections, including the junction near Al Rashidiya Park. Meanwhile, construction continues along Sheikh Rashid bin Abdulaziz Street and Al Zaher Street. Teams are also completing stormwater drainage infrastructure to improve road safety during rainfall.

Al Hamidiya Street Expansion Reaches 25%

The Al Hamidiya Street project will expand road capacity between Mohammed bin Rashid Street and the border road.

The development will introduce three lanes in each direction up to Jeddah Street. The remaining section will feature two lanes in each direction.

Workers have completed road preparation activities, allowing the next construction stages to proceed. The project also includes upgraded pavements and parking facilities.

Impact to Expect

The projects should reduce traffic congestion, improve journey times and strengthen connectivity across Ajman. Residents and commuters will benefit from wider roads, improved intersections and upgraded drainage systems when construction finishes in early 2027.
