The UAE issued red and yellow fog alerts on November 4 as poor visibility affected parts of Abu Dhabi. Dubai temperatures were forecast to reach 35°C, while rain remains possible until Saturday
The UAE’s National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) issued red and yellow fog alerts on Wednesday, November 4, warning motorists about reduced visibility across several areas. Dense fog covered parts of Abu Dhabi, including Liwa, Hameem, Razeen, Nahil and Al Ain. The warning also covered areas near Dubai’s border and remained in effect until 9am. The NCM warned that horizontal visibility could deteriorate further in affected locations.
Abu Dhabi reduces speed limits to 80km/h
Abu Dhabi Police activated temporary speed restrictions on several roads as fog affected early morning traffic. Authorities reduced speed limits to 80km/h on sections of the Abu Dhabi–Al Ain Road, Sweihan Road and Umm Al Zumoul Road. Police urged motorists to follow electronic speed signs, maintain safe distances and avoid sudden braking during poor visibility.
Dubai temperatures reach 35°C as rain remains possible
Despite foggy mornings, daytime temperatures remain warm across the UAE. The NCM forecast highs of 35°C in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, while Sharjah could reach 34°C. Inland temperatures may climb to 38°C, while humidity could reach 90% overnight.
The weather department also expects clouds to develop over eastern and northern regions, bringing possible rainfall. Winds may reach 35km/h on Wednesday, with stronger conditions expected later this week.
UAE rain forecast continues until Saturday
The NCM expects possible showers across eastern and northern areas through Saturday, November 7. Friday could bring winds reaching 40km/h and blowing dust. Conditions should become fair to partly cloudy by Sunday.
Impact to Expect
The UAE weather alert may affect early morning travel as fog reduces road visibility. Drivers should monitor official warnings and changing speed limits, while residents in eastern and northern areas should prepare for possible rain.
