UAE condemns Houthi attacks on Riyadh airport and a Saudia aircraft that killed three Saudis, reaffirming its solidarity with Saudi Arabia.

Abu Dhabi, UAE: The United Arab Emirates has strongly condemned the Houthi group’s attacks on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and a Saudia aircraft, which resulted in the deaths of three Saudi nationals and injuries to several civilians.

In an official statement issued on October 9, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) described the attacks as a serious violation of Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and a threat to the Kingdom’s security and stability.

UAE reaffirms solidarity with Saudi Arabia

The Ministry reiterated the UAE’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and expressed support for measures taken by the Kingdom to protect its national security and stability.

The UAE also extended its condolences to the families of those killed and expressed sympathy with the Saudi leadership and people.

The Ministry wished all injured civilians a speedy recovery.

Attacks disrupt flights at Riyadh airport

The attacks came amid escalating tensions involving Yemen’s Houthi movement and Saudi Arabia.

According to international reports, the strikes damaged a Saudia aircraft and disrupted operations at King Khalid International Airport, prompting airlines to cancel or suspend several flights.

One of those killed was a Saudia pilot, while other civilians sustained injuries.

The attacks raised concerns about aviation safety and civilian infrastructure amid continuing regional hostilities.

International condemnation grows

The UAE’s statement follows condemnation from several countries and international organisations over attacks targeting civilian aviation facilities.

The United Nations and other governments have called for the protection of civilians and efforts to prevent further escalation.

The latest developments underline growing concerns about regional security, particularly as military tensions threaten international travel and commercial aviation.

Impact to expect

Heightened aviation security, possible flight disruptions and increased diplomatic pressure to prevent further attacks on civilian infrastructure in Saudi Arabia.
