Dubai Skylight Mall will open in 2027 with more than 360 stores across 1.3 million sq ft on Al Khail Road.
DUBAI: Dubai Skylight Mall is set to become one of the emirate’s newest major shopping and lifestyle destinations when it opens on Al Khail Road in 2027. Dubai Retail confirmed on October 6, 2026 that the development will span 1.3 million sq ft of gross leasable area and feature more than 360 stores, combining retail, dining and entertainment under one roof.
What shoppers can expect
The development is being positioned as a super-regional mall designed to serve both residents and visitors.
Dubai Retail says the destination will bring together leading retail, dining and entertainment brands while combining everyday convenience with contemporary lifestyle experiences. Specific brands, restaurants and entertainment attractions have not yet been announced.
With more than 360 stores planned, the project will add a substantial new retail offering to Dubai’s already extensive shopping landscape.
Where Skylight Mall will be located
Dubai Skylight Mall will be located along Al Khail Road, one of the city’s busiest transport corridors.
Its position is expected to make the development particularly accessible to nearby residential communities including Jumeirah Village Triangle, Jumeirah Islands, The Springs and surrounding neighbourhoods.
Dubai Retail said the strategic location would allow the destination to serve thousands of residents and visitors living along one of Dubai’s key residential corridors.
A major addition to Dubai Retail’s portfolio
The mall will join Dubai Retail’s portfolio of 58 malls and lifestyle destinations across the emirate.
Dubai Retail operates under Dubai Holding Asset Management and manages a broad range of retail destinations designed to serve different communities and visitor segments.
The company said the new development reflects its strategy of expanding its footprint in response to evolving market needs and customer expectations.
What remains to be announced
While the overall size, location and store count have been confirmed, Dubai Retail has not yet revealed the full tenant list or detailed entertainment line-up.
An exact opening date in 2027 has also not been announced.
Further information about individual brands, dining concepts, parking, visitor facilities and entertainment experiences is expected as development progresses.
Why Skylight Mall matters for residents
Dubai Skylight Mall could give communities around Al Khail Road easier access to large-scale shopping, dining and leisure options without requiring longer journeys to established retail districts.
Its mix of everyday services and destination-style experiences could also make it an important new leisure hub for families living in nearby neighbourhoods.
Impact to expect
The project could strengthen Dubai’s retail sector, create more choice for residents and increase commercial activity along the Al Khail Road corridor. It may also attract new brands and dining concepts seeking space within one of Dubai’s newest large-scale retail destinations.
