Drake’s representative has denied online speculation that the rapper is the father of Keshia Chanté’s unborn child after the Canadian singer revealed she is seven months pregnant with a baby boy.
Canadian rapper Drake has broken his silence through his representative after social media speculation linked him to Keshia Chanté’s pregnancy.
The rumours began after Chanté, 38, announced on October 6 that she is expecting her first child, a baby boy. While celebrating the pregnancy, the singer and former 106 & Park host chose not to reveal the identity of the baby’s father.
Drake’s team denies the claims
As speculation quickly spread online, a representative for Drake dismissed suggestions that the 39-year-old rapper was the father.
“It’s false,” his representative told People and E! News, directly rejecting the claim.
The rumours gained momentum partly because Chanté described her partner as “brilliant and super creative” and suggested he had a connection to music. Fans then began linking the unidentified father to Drake because of the pair’s long history.
Drake and Keshia Chanté’s history
Drake and Chanté have known each other for years. During his 2022 OVO Fest performance, Drake publicly referred to Chanté as his “first girlfriend” while speaking warmly about their relationship.
Their longstanding connection helped fuel the latest speculation, although neither Chanté’s pregnancy announcement nor her interview identified Drake as the father.
Chanté has said she is currently “unavailable” romantically and spoke positively about her unnamed partner, saying she hopes their son inherits some of his personality and creativity.
Drake is already father to Adonis Graham, whom he shares with artist Sophie Brussaux.
Impact to expect
Drake’s representative’s direct denial is likely to cool much of the speculation, although interest around Chanté’s unnamed partner may continue until she chooses to reveal more details publicly.
