DUBAI: UAE-Saudi flight cancellations continued on Friday, October 23, following a deadly attack on King Fahd International Airport in Dammam.

Saudi aviation authorities confirmed that Wednesday’s attack killed two people, including a Saudi citizen and an Indian resident. Eight others sustained injuries.

Although the airport has resumed operations, airlines continue adjusting schedules amid regional security concerns.

Emirates has cancelled selected services connecting Dubai with Riyadh, Dammam and Jeddah.

Flydubai has extended cancellations on routes to Riyadh, Dammam and Abha through October 24.

Several Dubai International Airport arrivals were cancelled on Friday, including flydubai services from Dammam and Riyadh.

Passengers should expect further adjustments as airlines review regional security conditions.

Etihad and Air Arabia Extend Disruptions

Etihad Airways has cancelled Abu Dhabi services to Riyadh and Dammam through Saturday, October 24.

Four Jeddah flights, EY601, EY602, EY603 and EY604, are also affected.

Meanwhile, Air Arabia has cancelled selected Sharjah services to Riyadh, Dammam, Abha, Jizan, Tabuk and Al-Jouf.

The airline has not confirmed a general resumption date for affected routes.

Impact to Expect

Travellers could face further cancellations, missed connections and additional rebooking expenses.

Passengers should check flight status through official airline websites before travelling to the airport.

Those affected should contact their airline or travel agent regarding refunds, alternative flights and booking changes.

Airlines continue monitoring regional conditions, and schedules may change without significant advance notice.

Despite the resumption of operations at Dammam airport, normal UAE-Saudi flight services have not fully recovered.
